New things

It felt like an early birthday. I received two packages on the same day! How much better can it get?

The first one actually fit in the mailbox and was so lovely packed and wrapped by Britta!

Look at the yummyness that was inside! A pink Gloomy bear belt, one of her great bunny stickers, two cute ladybug clothingpins and that stamped wrapping paper which I'm going to save.

I've already worn that belt out in public to show it off, now I need to think up a good place to put the cool sticker so I can show it off too.

I had to go to the post office to pick up the second package since it was too big to fit in my mailbox. On my way to the office I was trying to figure out what it might be in the large package. I was only expecting one thing in the mail that was sort of big and that was something I had bought on Ebay, but according to the tracking service the package was still in transit... However it turned out to be that item anyway. And I'm not the one to complain about its early arrival!

Behold my new designer inspired handbag! My precious handbag looks like the original but it doesn't have the label name written all over it (and is not made of soft calfskin). I prefer it this way because I don't want to have a bag that's pretending to be something it's not. I wouldn't mind having the brand name on it if it was an authentic bag though... Too bad I can't get one with the budget I have today.

Robert made this. We were at a job fair and one of the companies had a competition on the best wire sculpture. Robert entered and he won first price with this sitting bunny.

Now the bunny is sitting on my desk waiting to be moved to my new apartment. Yup I'm moving in three days! And I haven't started packing yet. I feel a bit stressed because I get the keys to the new place on Wednesday and I have to be out of my current place on the same day. Not to mention that exams week is getting closer...

I'll end this blog entry with a short video clip of a super cutesie bunny. I want a $2 Mexcian pet bunny too!

Had a great V-day

Wheather you celebrated Valentine's day or not, I hope you had a great day (and is having a great one now). Mine was super!

I spent most of the day with Robert, I surprised him with a homebaked cake, we exchanged gifts and he treated me dinner at this pasta restaurant. Hihi

This is the lovely pile of gifts Robert gave me!
# The Bromeliad by Terry Pratchett - I love everything by Terry Pratchet!
# Silver bracelet with turqouise stone charms - my favorite color!
# V-day card in red envelope - cute drawings on the envelope and sweet text inside the card
# Fruits Basket keychain - the mouse is one of my fave characters from that show!
# A bunch of photos taken with his digicam - the photo on the top is from our first date more than a year ago...
# Hairbrush - exactly the same I have now, which he broke hehe

Close up of the freakishly cute Totoros Robert drew on the envelope. Sorry for the bad picture. Please don't blame me, blame the flash...

I sent this card to my parents that I had made for them. This is the cover...

...and this is the inside. I pressed these flowers, petals and leaves myself, which was the easy part. The hard part was to glue them onto the card which was a pain and took much longer than I'd expected. The heart at the bottom is stamped by the way. I added a few words after taking this pic and before sending the card.

Some other cards I've made that are suitable for other occasions. I showed some of the handcarved stamps in my last post and here I've used them on small cards made of recycled cotton. I bought the cards and the envelope from a craftstore so the papery things aren't made by me.

This is the insides of the two cards. The three pics on each card are suppose to tell a little story. I was thinking that the one with the lonely hen who finds/gives birth to a chicken can be 'I'm glad I found you' or 'New baby announcement' card. The tooth that comes across a candy can be used as a 'Better luck next time' or 'Get well soon' card. Or whatever else you can come up with! They are both available here.

Still making things

I've been quiet for a little while, but I'm still here and still keeping my hands busy with clay and an exacto knife. Here's a very brief summary of what I've been doing:

Making burgers and fries. Here you see some of them hanging out before turning into earrings.

Only a small part of the amount of earrings that I made for two wholesales.

I've been wanting to try making handcarved stamps for a long time. Finally I got an eraser (Robert's) to slice and dice and make stamps out of! I have a plan what to use them on and soon enough (hopefully) the stamped items will be added to my shop.

This little guy was carved by Robert. It's so cute it even has a heart-shaped eye! *love*

I'll end this post with another yummy thing also made by Robert. We had this for dinner a while ago, I've just forgotten about this picture. Heh. Salmon is one of my favorite!
