I'm 21 now!

Since I last blogged I've turned 21 and my birthday was filled with various surprises including gifts, breakfast in bed, a full body massage at a spa, yummy dinner and...

... a totoro standing outside my door! I managed to catch him with some help from Robert and the totoro is now living in my kitchen on the windowsill.

School hasn't been too hectic lately so I've spent some time crafting and have many ideas of new things to make. I'll tell more about it when I have something to show heh. In the meantime why don't you keep yourself busy by folding some cute paper animals. The bunnies with the carrots are my favorite.

These are the newest addition to Cornyness Shop. Five new earring designs that I just added earlier today.

Productive weekend!

I thought this past weekend would be very eventless and that I would have time to work on the game Flavius and I are developing for fun. It's going to be a platform game to be played on cellphones. Flavius does all the coding while I'm in charge of the graphics.
<-- (Sneak peak of the main character I've drawn.)

However it didn't turn out to be a weekend filled with pixelling. On Friday evening I received an email from Shanalyn at PixelgirlShop who'd just been informed that my animal earrings, that are for sale on her site, were going to be featured at DailyCandy.com(!!!) on Monday (today). _And_ because of this she needed 90 pairs(!!!) of animal earrings within 5-7 days. That meant that I had to make 180(!!!) Fimo animals and have them sent to her on Monday (today) so they will arrive before the next weekend. (It takes about 3-5 working days for a package to travel from Sweden to US.)

I immediately started working on the huge loot and actually _did_ finish them all in time and actually _did_ send them out earlier today! Hooray for me! *celebrates*

Now it's up to the post people to deliver them all safe and sound (and fast). *crosses fingers and holds thumbs* (Holding thumbs is what we do here in Sweden.)

A few pics of the animal-making process:

Chicken earrings in the preproduction stage.

Can you spot the only faceless chicken in this pic?

DOOONE! I still can't believe I managed to finish all 180 animals in only 2 days. I guess I'm more efficient when I have little time to do a lot.

I'm really excited about having my items featured somewhere, it's still very new to me. I actually thought this was the first time but after playing detective I found out that Cornyness items have been mentioned at Fashiontribes.com about a year ago.

And apparently Cornyness was nominated for Best European Weblog 2006.

I didn't even know. Wish people would tell me about these things. It's a nice surprise finding out though and I like surprises. Especially nice ones.

Back...

Yesterday I got up at 8 AM and spent 15 hours writing on a math report that was due at midnight. Of course I didn't sit infront of the laptop working for 15 hours straight (_that_ would have been crazy) so I finished at 1 AM. The worst part wasn't even writing the most boring thing I've ever written, but to actually have to hand it in on paper. At school. 20 minutes walk from my place. At 1 AM. In 10 (F) degrees... At least I had some company.

You have no idea how relieved I felt after I'd finished it, walked all the way there, handed it in, come back home and got defrosted. These two weeks have been filled with exams, assignments, projects and reports deadlines. And I've also moved to a new place. The math report was the last boring thing on my to-do list at the moment so now I could finally continuing living and enjoying my life again. Since I wasn't having any classes the following day (today) I planned to sleep in to get my energy back.

How foolish of me.

I woke up around 7 AM thinking I was in Jurassic Park during World War II. The same scenario I've been waking up to every weekday since I moved here.

They are doing construction work _right_ outside my window, drilling, digging and hammering. In other words being noisy and disturbing. It goes on from 7 AM to 4 PM, with one hour lunchbreak at 11, every day except during the weekends. I don't blame the construction workers though. It's not their fault that what they are doing annoys the bunny out of me and is so frustrating that I want to tear my hair off.

It used to be covered with grass and trees there.

However, I'd prefer having the Hyundai-osaurous instead of my old Spanish idiot neighbor anytime.

Heh yeah I don't have any real curtains yet. Only two thin pieces to cover up my six windows. I've gotten some cute fabric that my mom is going to use to make curtains for me (I don't have a sewing machine...). But I'm not going to my parents' until in five weeks so I'll have to live like I'm in Big Brother until then.

On to some more interesting news.

These are some of the crafty things I've managed to do during these stressful times. I'm adding them to my shop right now as we speak I type.
